There are many roads that lead to the same destination and I can say that I have traveled many paths to get to where I am today. I’ve met numerous great people and had quite a few diverse and rewarding experiences, all, I believe, have helped to shape and continues to shape who I am.

After the conclusion of a four year tour of duty in the military in 95, I decided that a career as an Army officer just wasn’t in my future. I returned home to Georgia and began working in my first degree field, Engineering. After a three year lucrative job in the manufacturing world, I realized that I wanted to experience some adventures before settling down with a family, so my wife and I pulled up stakes, sold our 36 acre farm and relocated from Northwest Georgia to Athens in 1998 to attend UGA for further education in a much beloved subject-history, specifically Medieval history.

Being a “non-traditional” student, I began pursuing a second bachelor's, specifically in the Medieval Studies certificate program at UGA while I also explored a secondary dormant interest of mine, acting. I had done a few talent shows while I attended my first college, Berry College in Rome, GA, where I also was the school mascot in 1990, but acting or drama classes never really entered my mind.

However, in Athens, I felt a new sense of freedom and a strong desire to pursue acting. So, I became heavily involved in community theatre, such as the Town & Gown Players, Oconee Youth Playhouse, and the Renaissance troupe, "Just Theatre". When ROAD TRIP came to Athens to film in 1999, I went on a whim just to do background work. I was cast on the spot the first day to be a featured role. The first day I placed a foot on the set, I knew I was “home”. However, the scene didn’t make the final cut. I also was hired thereafter to do stand-in work for one of the leads on location in southern Georgia for the film.

Continuing to seek out opportunities, I, again, went to do background work for the film, UNSHACKLED, which was filmed in Atlanta and was cast, again, to do a featured role. This time escorting the main lead actor in a scene in the film. I couldn’t have been happier. Beginning to feel serious about acting, I enrolled and underwent actor training in the Alliance Theatre Acting Program in Atlanta at nights. Little did I know how deeply the acting bug began to bite.

After finishing at UGA, in mid 2000, we moved overseas to Dublin, Ireland, where I attended the prestigious Trinity College pursuing an accelerated master's degree in Irish Medieval History by day and attending the renowned Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin at night. After doing much background work in feature films, several principal roles in local Independent films, some stage work, and countless auditions in Dublin, I finally landed a supporting role in one of the biggest films ever to shoot in Ireland, REIGN OF FIRE, starring Christian Bale and Matthew McConaughey and directed by Rob Bowman. Needless to say, I had a blast while filming those four months and the acting hook was firmly set. It wasn’t long before I was cast in the triple Academy Award nominated film, IN AMERICA, directed by Jim Sheridan. Acting became my full-time pursuit.

In December 2001, despite other acting work and a positive outlook for acting opportunities in Ireland and the UK and having completed my degree, we decided to return home to the US, especially given the recent September 11th terrorist attack in New York. So, we moved back to Georgia temporarily where our entire household and cars had been put into storage.

Since returning, my goal has been to further develop my craft as an actor and build the all-important resume, while gaining more experience. So far, I have done just that. I have been extremely busy with lead and supporting roles in numerous Independent feature and short films in almost every state throughout the Southeast as well as television roles on the Discovery Channel, while also adding industrial and commercial work around Atlanta to my resume. Oh, and yes, continually training and auditioning. I am represented by the Union talent agency, The People Store, in Atlanta, Georgia.

In my spare time between productions, I enjoy hiking, writing poetry & music, practicing guitar, and reading Medieval Irish history and folklore. I am back now also working intermittently in the engineering field with an incredible Engineering/IT firm, Miner & Miner Consulting Engineers, a Telvent Company, and again living in Athens with my wife, 3 year old daughter, newborn son, two cats, and a fish named Moe. It's just a matter of time when it will be right for the fortunate production company, and myself to combine in another wonderful feature film adventure. Oh, I have a soft spot for period films. :)
